There is no question that Divikar's No. 4 peppercorns are significantly better than all the peppercorns that I've used the past. The peppercorns add more than just heat to any dish.
I never believed that pepper could have an aroma so glorious. When I removed the supermarket peppercorns from my mill and opened the bag of Tellicherry peppers from The Reluctant I was blown away. So glad I believed your hype. I will never doubt you again!
Tellicherry Black Whole Peppercorns, Divakar's No. 004, Restaurant Variety
I have been teaching myself about cooking with the aim of making vegetable-forward, unprocessed, delicious meals, and I feel like I have nearly mastered a lot of the principles. When one of my most respected chef role models recommended getting good fresh-ground pepper, I was skeptical of the difference it would make. I was wrong. The complexity of these peppercorns freshly ground does worlds more than adding just a smidge of heat, and it has opened my mind to all of the things I have yet to learn about cooking. I am stocked up and will be coming back.
These really are vastly superior to any others I've ever tried--they have all sorts of amazing notes and subtleties. I plan to use them with abandon.
