Turmeric Powder, Golden

Proud to be named in Bon Appétit as a "Top 10 Great Specialty Food Store"

Woot for the root! To make the freshest turmeric powder, my partner in Kerala, India buys only whole turmeric root from the Wayanad region in the south. He then turns it into golden powder. Nothing is added. You'll notice the fragrant fresh ginger and orange notes.

Use in mustard, relishes, dressings and curry. Turmeric also complements seafood and poultry.

For those keeping track at home, our turmeric contains between 3.5 and 4% curcumin. Satisfaction, however, should be closer to 100%.

Golden Paste

About every week I make up a batch of tumeric paste. I had been using the organic bulk tumeric powder from my local health food store, but there really is no comparison with Reluctant's exceptional product. It's mellow and deeply colored and so flavorful! And it's organic! Tumeric is such a beneficial root - researchers continue to discover more health benefits. The paste takes about 10 minutes to cook and it goes in almost everything I cook. The ratio is 1C tumeric to 3C water to 3/4-1C virgin coconut oil. Into that goes a little salt, ginger, cardamom, and lots of fresh ground fabulous Reluctant tellicherry pepper. (The piperine in the pepper vastly increases the benefits of the curcumin). B/c piperine dissipates over time, I withhold the pepper and grind it freshly into the pot or pan. This make a divine golden paste. It is such a luxury to have access to Reluctant's superior products. I can't thank you all enough.
