100-Year Loom Chef's Apron, Navy
Bummer, this product is sold out.
Proud to be named in Bon Appétit as a "Top 10 Great Specialty Food Store"
Apron also available in Tan.
Before Divakar brought his impossibly tasty Tellicherry Peppercorns to my attention in 2012, he made textiles for my old company, The Land of Nod. Well, life has come full circle.
Divakar and I joined forces again to create our own exclusive chef's apron. Our version features gorgeous, heavy-weight cotton fabric produced on a 100 year-old handloom in Divakar's hometown of Kannur, India. (See the photos under the main shot.) To achieve a soft, natural feel, no starch is added to the yarn at the weaving stage.
The apron is as practical as it is good looking. Includes two large pockets below the waist for cooking utensils, cell phone and mom's secret recipes. Features a blue ticking stripe embellishment. Two small pockets near the top hold pens and pencils. Neck strap is fully adjustable. Waist strap is long enough to tie in back or front.
Aprons are unisex. Each apron comes packaged in a printed, drawstring Reluctant Trading Experiment bag. Ideal for gift giving or just for yourself.

I love my new 100 year loom chef’s apron it is tuff and sturdy but not stiff. Wonderful deep pockets. The ties are long enough you can make any kind of fit you want. I look cute in it.
When I ordered this I figured it would be another item I used and put in a drawer. But this is both a substantial garment and a useful apron. It has some heft and the weave is very attractive. I find myself reaching for it routinely and I am sure it will last years. I have paid more for less so I am very pleased with the quality but I have come to expect that from Reluctant Trading.
